Michelle McSorley-Sharp is a recognised leader in social value, known for her strategic clarity, deep sector insight, and unwavering commitment to equity and community impact.
With more than two decades of experience across housing, construction, local government, and the VCSE sector, she has shaped some of the UK’s most respected social value strategies, programmes, procurement & measurement frameworks. Her career has been driven by a simple belief; social value should strengthen people and places long after a project ends.
Michelle brings a rare blend of strategic vision, operational depth, and human understanding, ensuring organisations not only deliver impact, but build the capability and confidence to sustain it independently.
Before founding McSorley Impact Consultants, Michelle has worked across major housing providers, local authorities, and the construction sector, serving as Social Value Director for Residential & Regeneration across the south of England and Wales.
She has led award-winning community development and engagement teams, pioneered innovative SROI tools, and built social value operating models for major contractors and local authorities. Her work has empowered underrepresented groups, supported thousands of residents, and helped organisations embed social value into procurement, governance, and culture.
Michelle created this consultancy to champion a different way of working, one rooted in partnership, honesty, and legacy. She is a connector, a collaborator, and a passionate advocate for shifting power to communities and strengthening the systems that support them.
Her purpose is clear: to empower organisations to create social value that lasts with the right support, the right systems, and the confidence to lead meaningful change.
