Social Value Policy

1. Our Commitment

At McSorley Impact Consultants, we believe that organisations have a responsibility to create meaningful and lasting benefits for the communities and environments in which they operate. Our work is centred on supporting organisations to understand, measure, and maximise their social impact.

Our approach aligns with the principles of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, which encourages organisations to consider how their activities can deliver wider economic, social, and environmental benefits. We are committed to embedding social value into our own operations as well as the services we deliver to clients.

2. Supporting the Voluntary and Community Sector

As part of our commitment to strengthening the social impact ecosystem, we recognise that many community, voluntary, and third-sector organisations operate with limited resources but deliver significant social benefit.

To support this sector, McSorley Impact Consultants will provide a minimum of 35 hours of pro bono consultancy support each year to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs). This support will help organisations to:

• Understand and articulate their social impact
• Develop impact measurement frameworks
• Strengthen social value reporting
• Improve evidence for funding applications and commissioning opportunities
• Align their work with recognised impact and evaluation practices

Our aim is to help these organisations demonstrate the difference they make and strengthen their sustainability and effectiveness.

3. Our Social Value Priorities

Through our work and operations, we focus on the following areas of social value:

• Strengthening Communities - Supporting community organisations to demonstrate and maximise their impact, enabling them to better serve the people and communities they support.
• Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building - Providing expertise, guidance, and training that improves understanding of social impact measurement and evaluation.
• Responsible and Ethical Practice - Operating with transparency, integrity, and accountability in all of our work with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Collaboration and Partnership - Working collaboratively across sectors to promote effective social impact practice and encourage learning and innovation.

4. Monitoring and Reporting

We are committed to ensuring that our social value activities are meaningful and transparent. We will monitor and report on our social value commitments by tracking:

• Number of pro bono hours delivered to community and voluntary organisations
• Number of organisations supported
• Outcomes achieved through capacity-building support
• Feedback from supported organisations

These measures help us ensure that our commitment delivers real benefit and continuous learning.

5. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure that it continues to reflect our values, commitments, and the needs of the organisations and communities we support.
